Women's Sailing with the Luffing Lassies
The Luffing Lassies, founded in 1972 by Lilly Kaighin, is one of the oldest and most active sailing groups in the Squadron. We are also one of the largest, with some eighty women sailors of all ages and backgrounds. The primary boat we sail is the Sunfish, but Lassies also sail Hobie Waves and 420’s. For any woman wishing to improve her sailing skills, the Luffing Lassies offers educational opportunities and on-water experience. Every Thursday during the school year, we meet to race against each other or against sister clubs in the Florida Women’s Sailing Association. But that is not all; we Lassies love to have fun on the water and off, with social events, work parties, and more. Come find your new friends - new members are warmly welcomed.
