Mooring Field Application Denied

A Denial of our Application was issued on April 20th… Read full article, 2012.  As a matter of procedure we have requested an extension to the time period allowing us to put together an appeal.  This was done to give us time as a group to determine our next steps.
As I write this we are waiting for the State’s response anticipating it will give us 60 days (already counting) to determine an appeal strategy.

The Sarasota Herald recently reported the increased diversity of our community is making this a much more interesting and vital place to live.
Apparently, it’s news people respond more positively to variety than homogeneity.

From the Commodore: February 2011

The 2011 budget has been approved by the Board of Directors. It looks a lot like the 2010 budget which was pretty accurate. We came in about 8% short of projected income last year but were able to push expenses down accordingly and actually increased projected net revenue fivefold to $25,504.  … Read full article

Saturday Work Party revived!

As most members know, Pat Murphy and the Ball Busters have a work party every Wednesday morning.  Sometimes, as many as a couple dozen members show up and perform a variety of chores including raking sea grass off the boat ramps, restocking beverage coolers, trimming bushes and more.
Until several years ago, the Squadron also had work parties every 3rd Saturday of the month for members wanting to log volunteer hours but unable to do so on a weekday.… Read full article
