… Read full articleThe Windjammer Regatta is a reincarnation of an event from the past of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron. The new version is now three years old and is sponsored by SSS, Venice Yacht Club and Venice Sailing Squadron. The idea is to emulate offshore point-to-point races, first from Sarasota to Venice on a Saturday and then back to Sarasota the next day.

Sarasota One Design Midwinters 2012
Calling all One Design Fleets! The Sarasota Sailing Squadron is hosting their Annual One Design Midwinter Regatta March 16th through March 18th for fleets of five or more boats. Anticipated fleets include E Scow, Daysailer, Albacore, I-20, S2 7.9 and Flying Scot, with invitations to all One Design fleets with boats of five or more including Windmill, Laser, SR Max 21 and Melges 24.… Read full article
22 Sailors Compete in the Suncoast Laser Regatta at SSS
On November 12, 22 Laser sailors from around the area gathered on Sarasota Bay for the sixth and final regatta of the 2011 Suncoast Laser Series. Laser Suncoast Regatta draws 18 boats
The Suncoast Laser Fleet held it’s 4th regatta of the season at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron this past Saturday, November 13th… Read full article. Eighteen competitors from around the area sailed a total of five races. Light air in the morning filled in to between 5 and 10 knots for the 1:00 p.m.
